Refusal To Work Policy

It is the policy of Platform Petroleum Limited to ensure that no employee is assigned work which is unsafe, or does not comply with company HSE policy and operating procedures and that all employees are empowered to refuse such assignments if any of the following circumstances exist.

A work instruction that negates one of its procedures is an unsafe assignment.
An employee shall have the right to refuse carrying out an unsafe assignment.
If the worker is not aware of procedure concerning that assignment.
An employee has the right to refuse entering the work place with equipment or any substances, which presents serious and imminent danger without fear of dismissal.
Should the supervisor not stop such work, then the employee has the right to inform his sectional head.
Should the section head not correct the anomaly in respect of the work assigned, the employee shall inform the HSE department.
On receiving the unsafe assignment refusal note, HSE department will investigate the authenticity and take necessary action immediately so that corrective measures can be taken and work can resume.
