Drug & Alcohol Policy
As part of its commitment to the health and safety of the personnel and contractors, this drug and alcohol policy of Platform Petroleum Limited has been formulated. This policy is to be read and obeyed by all company personnel and subcontractors. In addition, its contents are to be made the subject of Departmental/unit safety meetings.
  • Using prohibited and non-prescribed drugs is dangerous to the user and fellow workers and will not be tolerated in the company’s facilities at any time or under any circumstances.
  • No alcohol is allowed in work areas. Under no circumstances is alcohol to be on, or consumed at work locations at base or in the field. Under no circumstances is any person to be under the influence of alcohol while on duty.
  • Prescribed drugs may impair your safety performance at work. Inform your immediate supervisor of any prescribed drugs being used so that medical advice may be sought.
  • Personnel contravening the contents of this policy will be liable to severe disciplinary measures and/or dismissal.
 
Platform Petroleum Limited:
  • Reserves the right to test for abuse of drug or alcohol in any of its facilities.
  • May conduct periodic or random testing and search for drugs and alcohol at any of its facilities without prior notice.
  • Shall refuse entry to work sites of any employee or contractor staff believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Shall take disciplinary action (including dismissal) against any employee who is unable to perform his job due illegal use of alcohol or drug.
